SnapSale’s Payment Methods feature streamlines your checkout process by allowing you to configure and display payment options for your customers. This feature not only records payment types on receipts but also enables QR code payments for a smoother transaction experience.

Key Benefits

Tags allow you to categorize your inventory items for easier organization and searching:

Supported Payment Methods

SnapSale supports the following payment options:

  • Zelle – Bank-to-bank transfers
  • Venmo – Social payment platform
  • PayPal – Online payment service
  • Cash App – Mobile payment service
  • Cash – Physical currency transactions
  • Check – Traditional paper checks
  • Other – Custom payment methods

Setting Up Payment Methods

Accessing Payment Methods

  1. Navigate to Settings from your main menu
  2. Select Payment Methods
  3. You’ll see your current payment method configuration

Adding a New Payment Method

  1. Tap + Add New Payment Method at the bottom of the Payment Methods screen
  2. In the Edit Payment Method dialog:
    • Select Payment Method: Choose from the dropdown (Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, etc.)
    • Display Label: Enter a custom name that will appear on receipts
    • QR Code URL (optional): Add a URL to generate a scannable QR code
    • Active Toggle: Enable or disable this payment method
  3. Tap Save Payment Method to confirm

Managing Existing Payment Methods

Each payment method card shows:

  • Payment method name and custom label
  • QR code URL (if configured)
  • Edit button (pencil icon) – Modify payment method details
  • Delete button (trash icon) – Remove payment method
  • Active toggle – Enable/disable without deleting

QR Code Functionality

When you add a QR code URL:

  • The system generates a scannable QR code during checkout
  • Customers can scan the code with their phone camera
  • This directly opens their payment app for instant transactions
  • The total amount is displayed alongside the QR code

QR Code URL Examples

  • Venmo: https://venmo.com/u/username
  • Zelle: Use your bank’s Zelle QR code URL
  • PayPal: https://paypal.me/username
  • Cash App: https://cash.app/$username

Best Practices

Setting Up Multiple Payment Methods

  • Configure all payment methods you accept
  • Use clear, descriptive display labels
  • Keep only active payment methods enabled
  • Test QR codes to ensure they work properly

Display Labels

  • Use customer-friendly names (e.g., “Venmo – @yourhandle”)
  • Include relevant details like account usernames
  • Keep labels concise but informative

QR Code Setup

  • Ensure URLs are current and functional

During Checkout

When a customer checks out:

  1. They’ll see all active payment methods
  2. QR codes appear for configured payment methods
  3. The total amount is clearly displayed
  4. Customers can scan and pay instantly
  5. The selected payment method is recorded on the receipt

Common Issues

QR Code Not Displaying

  • Verify the QR code URL is properly formatted
  • Ensure the payment method is set to “Active”
  • Check that the URL is accessible

Payment Method Not Showing at Checkout

  • Confirm the payment method toggle is enabled
  • Verify you’ve saved your changes
  • Check that the payment method is properly configured

Receipt Not Showing Payment Method

  • Ensure the payment method was selected during checkout
  • Verify the display label is properly set
  • Check that the transaction completed successfully
