Understand Sales and Show Totals

Compare deal proceeds, show expenses, and inventory potential without mistaking one for another.

Last reviewed

Sales and Shows answer different questions. Sales summarizes deals in the selected range. A show summarizes the deals linked to that event and subtracts its recorded show costs.

Premium is required for the All, YTD, and Custom Sales ranges and for opening saved deals older than 30 days.

Net from deals: what came in after buying and trading?

In Sales, Net from deals is Sales minus Buys / trade-ins, after discounts. It covers all payment methods and excludes show costs. It is not profit: the original costs of the items you sold have not been deducted.

Deals counts completed transactions. Expand the summary to see item-line counts and averages. A deal can contain several item lines, and one line can have a quantity greater than one. An average per item line is not an average per deal or per individual card.

Net cash after costs: what did the event leave me?

Open a show and choose Cash. Net cash after costs is Sales minus Buys / trade-ins minus Show costs for that show. Despite the word cash, this includes all recorded payment methods, not just physical bills and coins.

A mixed deal has both outgoing and incoming items. It counts on both sides of the breakdown, but only once in the show’s total deal count. Do not add the two side counts to get total deals.

One deal, several useful numbers

Suppose you sell an item for $200 after discounts, receive another item valued at $150 for $100 of trade credit, and record $30 in show costs. Your sold item originally cost you $120.

  • $100 Net from deals: $200 outgoing minus $100 incoming. This is the balance the customer pays.
  • $70 Net cash after costs: the $100 balance minus $30 in show costs.
  • $80 outgoing gain in Insights: $200 sell total minus $120 recorded item cost, before show costs and other expenses.
  • $50 Potential upside in the show’s Inventory view: $150 Worth at your prices minus $100 Paid or traded.

Read the show timeline

Tap See it over time in the show summary. Bars show each period’s sales above zero and buys / trades and show costs below zero. The Net cash line shows the running balance through the show.

Tap a period or use the arrows to inspect it. The selected period’s Net cash is that period’s change; it can differ from the running line and the show-wide amount at the top. Potential upside is reported separately and is not added to cash.

If two totals do not match

  1. Check the date range and search in Sales. Then tap the information icon in the show summary to open Which deals are included? Matching dates or an event name do not automatically make the two sets of deals identical.
  2. Check Show costs. These reduce the show’s net, but not Net from deals in Sales.
  3. Check sync and coverage messages. Show results and timelines use records available on this device; other-device deals appear as they sync. The Sales account summary may cover more deals.
  4. Use Review other deals or the show menu’s Add existing deals if a completed deal belongs to the event but was not linked.

Starting cash and Cash counted belong to cash reconciliation. They do not increase sales or the show’s trading result. Missing saved prices can make inventory potential incomplete even when the payment totals are available.
